How did we come up with the name Starest?
The name simply came from the Founder’s first name Esther which means star in Hebrew, followed by the first three letters of the name Est to form STAREST.
Are your products vegan and cruelty free?
At Starest, we believe in the power of plants. That's why we only use plant-derived ingredients in all of our products. We also believe that nature is the best muse, which is why we ethically source our ingredients from suppliers who share in our commitment to cruelty-free practices.
Are your products tested on animals?
No! We love animals and strictly stand against animal testing. All our products are cruelty free and we never test on animals.
Where are your products made?
We are proud to say all our skin and hair care products are made in the UK.
Is your packaging recyclable?
Yes, all our starests product packaging are fully recyclable.
Are your products 100% natural and organic?
Yes! We believe skincare should never be at the expense of your health, so we use only the finest natural and organic ingredients which are ethically sourced from reputable suppliers. Our products contain no harmful ingredients that can have a negative impact on your health. In essence, we use no parabens, SLS, SLES, phthalates, aluminium, mineral oil, triclosan, fillers, synthetic fragrances or colours in our products. Just clean nourishing natural and organic ingredients.
What is the shelf life on hair/skincare products?
As a truly all-natural hair and skincare brand that uses no artificial preservatives, our products have a shelf life of at least 12 months when unopened. We recommend using our hair and skincare products within 6 months of opening.
Why is my product slightly different to the one I bought before?
Our products are all made with natural and organic ingredients. As a result, colours, scents, and textures may vary slightly between batches. However, this does not affect the quality or efficacy of our products.
Are your products safe to use during pregnancy?
We know that you want to make the best decisions for your body and your baby while you're pregnant. That's why we make it easy to choose products that are safe to use during pregnancy! Our unscented products are safe to use during pregnancy. As other products contain essential oils, we advise that you seek medical advice from a doctor or midwife before use, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Is your product safe for people with nut allergies?
At Starest, we want to make sure that your experience is safe and enjoyable. To that end, please note that some of our products contain nut oils. Check the ingredients listed for each product before you order!
How much is shipping?
Please refer to our delivery and returns page for list of our shipping prices. However, if your country isn't on the list, you can email us

When will my order arrive?
Usually, your order should reach you within 3-10 business days after we process your order. However, if you haven't received your order after 14 business days, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Can I change my address after the order has been placed?
We are really sorry, but due to a high volume of orders, we are unable to change the details of your order. If the order is delivered to the address that you provided, then we are not responsible for replacing or re-delivering the order. If your order is returned to us, you can request a refund minus our shipping and packaging costs and a £10 handling fee.
Can I add a gift note with the order?
Absolutely! We love when you gift our products to your loved ones. You can simply write a note on special instruction at the checkout and leave the rest for us to sort out.
What are the steps I should take if an item is missing from my order?
We're sorry to hear that your parcel has arrived missing an item. Your satisfaction is our priority, so we'll do everything we can to fix this situation as fast as possible.
If it looks like the box has been tampered with, damaged in transit or not fully sealed, please keep the box until you've contacted us about the problem, as we will need photos sent over as evidence. Without these photos your claim may not be accepted.
If there are no obvious issues with the box, we would ask you to keep it until the situation is resolved.

Do you include an invoice in the order?
Invoices and prices are not included in our shipments unless your order is being sent outside the EU and you need an invoice for customs.
Do you offer Student or NHS discount?
If you are an NHS staff member or student and would like to purchase products from us at a discount, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your NHS/student ID card and we'll send over the code.
Do you ship overseas?
We're happy to deliver to most countries, but please note that all orders will be processed in GBP since we're located in the UK. Customs and duties are the responsibility of the customer.
You can change the currency in the drop-down menu, but all orders will still be processed in GBP, and you may incur an additional fee for currency conversion.

Can I return products if I've had a reaction?

Is your deodorant an antiperspirant?
No, at Starest we make natural, chemical-free deodorant. Our products are designed to keep you smelling fresh throughout the day, but they do not inhibit perspiration because we believe
sweating is normal body function and is important. However, many customers report that over time they sweat significantly less. This could be due to allowing your body to regulation sweat production without blocking the pores.
Can I apply the deodorant after shaving?
If you're thinking of applying our deodorant to freshly shaven armpits, we advise patch testing before doing so. Skin is at its most sensitive post-shave and this could leave to irritation. If you tend to have sore underarms following
shaving, it might be wise to leave for a few hours and then apply.
How do I use the deodorant balm?
To use the deodorant balm, just rub a small amount of it onto dry, clean underarm skin after bathing. It's that easy!
Do you offer free samples?
We do not offer free samples, but you can find our 15g mini tin sizes that you can try. These are perfect to try out the different scents we have to offer.
How does it work?
The deodorant formula is naturally antibacterial, which means it prevents odour-causing bacteria from growing in your underarms. This means that you can stay fresh all day long!
Does the natural deodorant balm contain sodium bicarbonate soda?
Our natural deodorant balm does not contain sodium bicarbonate soda and aluminium. Sodium bicarbonate soda is abrasive, and it will actually irritate your skin. It's best to avoid putting anything like that on your skin!

Our body butter is ultra-hydrating and perfect for all skin types. Whether you have dry, sensitive or oily skin, this body butter will help your skin feel soft and supple. Our special blend of natural ingredients is designed to reduce redness and inflammation. So whether you need a little extra hydration or some calming relief, our body butter can help!
How do I use whipped body butter?

What to do if my body butter has melted and has reduced in size?
Here is the deal:
Place them in the refrigerator. Melting will not affect the quality of the whipped butter as a great moisturiser, but the whipped consistency will change. Whipping adds tiny bubbles (just like whipping cream) that increase the size, lighten the density and change the texture, making it lighter and fluffier. If the whipped product melts, those bubbles are collapsed, so you have less volume in the container.
So although your jar was filled to the top when it was dispatched, the butter melts en route to your house, there will be less volume in the container. The container may actually look half full.
If you'd like to whip it again yourself, you can use an electric whisk beater. You'll need to start with extremely cold butter for this to work best—if it's not cold enough, you'll have trouble getting it back to its original consistency.
Can I use this whipped body butter for my eczema prone skin?
Yes, shea butter the main ingredient in our whipped body butter is an excellent moisturizer and skin protectant. Shea butter is also anti-inflammatory, so it can help calm down redness and irritation.
We have an unscented version of our whipped body butter (Oat and Rosehip) that would be best for eczema, as fragrances are a common irritant for many people.
I am allergic to nuts. Can I still use this whipped shea butter product?
Yes, you can! Shea butter is not a nut but rather a vegetable fat from a fruit that grows on shea tree native to Africa.
